My PHP file is blank when I upload it to my FTP site

I seem to only be able to upload images to my website. From my home computer that is. I use Filezilla. I upload images fine. They're there. I can see them!

however, when I upload a php file, the transfer occurs but it shows up server side at a memory size of zero. When I upload it again, it's blank. I tried the computer at work with the same program and it works fine.

Anyone have this problem or can you shed some light on a fix?

thanks,

Pez

Are you uploading the PHP files in ASCII mode?

Yes, I am. Isn't that right? I use the same settings (although they don't apply to the GIFs) when I upload images. It's confusing me big time.

ASCII is the correct mode. GIFs should be transferred in binary mode.

Perhaps you should just try a simple html file with one line of text and see what happens. Can you view the file from your website? What do you get if you try to download this file again through FTP?

Yeah. I've uploaded a file and then downloaded it and it's blank. It's just a simple file with one line of HTML code which is a hyperlink and coordinates. This is driving me nuts....

Ok, so I guess you should try reinstalling the FTP application or using an alternative piece of software on the computer that it causing you problems.
