Please help

I have my web space and domain name and my webpages all done and everything.I set up my cute ftp the way it tells me to on the domain website and it uploads everything but it doesnt show up on the actual website.Am i doing something wrong.

Can anyone shed any light on this please.Many thanks

Are you uploading into the correct directory on the server? You'll probably want to look for a directory called public_html, htdocs or www. If you upload to a directory above here, the files won't be visible from the internet.

Yeh i have been uploading it to the public html file and nothing is happening does it take a whil eto come up.I have tried 4 different ftps and even tried one directly from a website.I must be doing something wrong but dont have a clue what.

The only thing that has happened is it has taken a picture of the website that was previously on there but left the other one on there.Im definately not sure what is going on

I'm not sure what you mean about "it has taken a picture of the website" but I don't think you are either! What's it a picture of and where do you see this picture? I'm not sure what else I can really say to help, perhaps you should try contacting your web hosting provider for support.

But what do you get when you logon to the server? It sounds like you do see the public_html directory. Is there anything in there? There might be an index file already present. What happens when you upload a test document into this folder? Does it upload successfully?
