Proftpd-mysql + Apache + FreeBSD permissions issue.
Hi there,
I am currently hosting some domains for some friends and I am trying to figure out a way that ppl can ftp into their home directory so they can upload their content.
My issue is this:
-apache assumes the user/group www/www,
-proftpd relies on mysql for authentication and uid(&gid too I guess) are different from user to user.
How do I get the users to be able to upload content to the server that apache will serve without opening up the permissions and adding all of these users /etc/passwd file?
I was looking into OpenLDAP, but that is a lot of configuration/time to setup for a handfull of domains, and quite confusing at a glance.
If someone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it...
Is it too early to say "Merry Christmas"?
