what ftp programs can make user accounts and passwords for others to login and upload things into my computer?
anything free and very safe. eg globalscape secure ftp server <--cost money Last edited by the_irs : October 17th, 2004 at 03:55 PM. Reason: ftp server program?

On what operating system do you want to run this FTP server?
And, define safe. The FTP protocol is inherently not secure (i.e. encrypted), if that's what you mean: it uses plaintext transfer for everything, including passwords. Colin

im using windows XP pro with apache2, php4 and mysql
i mean by safe as in if hackers try to hack me, which one would one would work the best agaisnt them? also i want to create user accounts and passwords so like other people from other computers can login and upload things to my computer in the designated folder of my choice eg globalscape secure ftp server, execpt it has to be free, thx
