Red Hat ftp timeout
To test vsftpd I ftp from a directory of my account to another directory. It works without a problem.

I try to ftp from a Windows computer and after it takes a long time for the transfer I get the error:

Connection closed. Server timeout

A non-blocking socket operation could not be completed immediately.
Connection closed. Server timeout.

I get the same results from my ftp client I have as well as the windows built-in ftp client.

If you are using a firewall, make sure both port 20 and 21 are open.
