Question Retrieving the available free space on ftp

Hi All,

Our website hosting company provides a ftp access for our daily backups.I would like to check it's free space day by day.
To get information before it would be full.

So my question is that is there any way to check its free space by scheduled windows script?

Thanks in advance!

Csaba

Are you hosting on a windows or linux server?
Do you have a different way of accessing your server besides ftp?

Welcome to Dev Shed.

Generally, you're provided with a control panel to log in to your domain's hosting. In doing this, there should be an option to check the available space used as well as how much space is free.

Through FTP, there's not usually a way to check the available space.

more details in this question

Hi hiker & Mantas2

Sorry for my late reply. so my replies are

4 hiker: we have own server at isp's server room.In other hand we
have a backup option at our isp.It is a external ftp storage what the isp ensure for us.
So I cant control the mentioned ftp server and it is not a proffesional service with web interface and so forth.

Mantas:we hosting on windows 2003 server and i have only ftp
connection access to ftp backup.

Sorry for my mistake I misspelled something.we are the website
provider and the isp provides us the server room and additional
ftp access for backups.

In addition the accessed ftp server name is :PureFTP

Many thanks the attention, and sorry for the late reply
When a total commander connected to ftp than it can show the available space. So I need to get this information by common windows scripts.
