Re: get it from my server

because... :-)

Well, my server is an AMD K6-200 with 64 Mb, do you want to convince it that Win2k with IIS runs even close as fast as Apache and WuFTP on it? When I tried this last time it just gave me a pathetic look, turned around and started chatting with the other machines on the rack, ignoring me completely. When I tried it again a wee while later it even threatened to change the root password and close my user accout! Would you want to piss around with such a sensitive computer? I certainly wonīt ;-)

Re: get it from my server

Tell me alllllllllllllll about it.

I use Zeus and Wu and everything is peachy. Plus I have an uptime of more than a month (which I dont think is achievable with MS products, hehe).

Re: get it from my server

uptime more than a month? I restart Apache once every month for my logs to remain at a reasonably size but other than that it runs and runs and runs :-)

However, you are right, no IIS would do that voluntarily ;-)

Real user in wu-ftpd

hi this are the steps

1 create user <username>
2 in passwd file change home /home/./username

3 In the ftpaccess

restricted-uid <username>
----------------------finish
this won't let the user come out from his home.

regards
Parag DJ

Setting Up wuftpd for Non-Anonymous Accounts

Setting Up wuftpd for Non-Anonymous Accounts

April 06, 1999 - For some reason, it's extremely hard to find all the documentation you need to easily set up wuftpd to allow FTP to semi-secure areas of a Unix filesystem. It's relatively simple to setup anonymous FTP, where the user has little or no access. But there are many occasions where you might want to allow users to have access to, for instance, Web site directories without allowing them to get into higher levels.

Please discuss this article in this thread. You can read the article here .
