Slight VS-FTP server problem
Has anyone installed the VS-FTP server? I have set it up on Linux RH 9 with just the defaults.
When I attempt to use an FTP client to ftp to the server as a normal user I land in the home directory of the user, which is fine. But, I find that I can also view the directories above the user eg: var or root etc... Its like I have become the root user. Is there some line that should be active in the vsftpd.conf file? Nothing seems apparent when I view the file. |

Granted this thread is kinda old, but I thought I'd answer it anyway because I highly reccomend vsftp as a ftp client if you insist on using FTP.
All of the vsftp options are listed in the man page for vsftpd which is available here. To achieve what conundrum12 desires, I would reccommend reading up on chroot_local_user. |
