Users in ProFTPD
I'm somewhat new to a Linux server, and the one I'm toying with now has ProFTPD on it. I haven't configured it at all, but I assumed the username and password used to SSH into the box would work with ProFTPD. THis is not the case. How do I set up users / passwords for ProFTPD?
Thanks. |

Still quite confused. I have ProFTP installed, but not sure how to set up users. Just want to set up a basic user able to upload files to a directory, nothing fancy. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks. |

you just need to set them up as a user on the machine which is running the ftp server - is use the 'adduser' or 'useradd' command.. then use the /etc/ftpusers or whatever to fine tune your access control list.
