VSFTPD or PROFTPD
hi,
i just installed a linux server with httpd+php+mysql. however, i also want to install ftp server. i have always used proftpd, but i've been reading a lot of good things for vsftpd. so im not sure which one to use... any suggestions? thanks! justin |

vsftpd is much faster and more secure. I have used both on the same computer under the same conditions and would strongly recommend vsftpd.

vsftpd
AS mentioned Vsftpd is faster due to it scaling better.
Its better for low power machines, however the config is more diffcult I use proftpd with a couple thousand users no problems. either will work fine, if you can use vsftpd from the start ![]()
