New questions in reply.
I setup wu-ftp, it seems to work, but when someone connects, it shows hidden files (.file), and folders. Is there a way to hide these files from the user?

I am new to the concept of groups.. when I set up the user's for the ftp using adduser/passwd, what group do I pick, does it matter?
In /etc/passwd, I have a lot of groups, do I need all of them? the wu-ftp GUEST.HOWTO says that in /etc/passwd, I need to put ./ after the home dir, for chroot, what exactly is that for? If I am making the user only for ftp access, what do I put for login shell (in /etc/passwd) and do I need to keep the files that are normally in a home dir? (for me, for example. I have a .kde dir, and a few .hidden files.) Since this account will only be using ftp to login, would I need all those files? Thanks. |
