    PureFTPd

    Hey everyone;

    I'm running PureFTP on my server, and I seem to have an issue manually creating a FTD user for /home/dodserv/. The automatically created accounts work just fine (automatically created with LXAdmin).

    Here's the issue; I manually create an account, when attempting to log into that acount via local using "ftp", or when using an FTP client like filezilla, I get a 530 error. So I made the password something wrong, then tried, and got a bad password error, did the same with username.

    So the account works, but it's either not active, or is having an issue opening the directory. Everything was CHMODed correctly, and I created the user exactly how the PureFTP manual specified.

    I googled this issue, got a few hits, but no answers. I would appreciate some help.

    It may be possible that the directories you are looking to open have wrong ownership assigned. Please check the file ownerships. It should be assigned to your username.
