    FTP Transfers failing

    I'm stumped.

For years, I've had no trouble uploading to a variety of Web servers. In the past few weeks, I'm getting consistent failures.

It is usually a JPG file that actually uploads but the upload process seems to stall for a minute or two, then I get a timeout error and the FTP program tells me that the target file already exists and asks if I want to overwrite. (The file did upload before the failure)

I'm getting the same problem with two different FTP programs (CuteFTP and Filezilla) and two different web servers. Therefore, I believe that the problem is somewhere else other than the server or FTP program. I don't know where to start looking for the problem.

    My system:
    Win 8.1 Pro X64
    5Mbps ADSL
    Filezilla 3.7.4.1
    CoreFTP LE X64 Version 2.2 build 1795

It would appear that it is a problem with this computer.

I installed Filezilla on my laptop (Win 8 Core X64) and my files upload perfectly.

    Where do I start?

Here's a copy of the communication between Filezilla and the server:

This may not be a common problem but in case anyone finds this thread, here is the solution....

I uninstalled and re-installed AVG and that fixed the problem.
You need to download and use the AVG uninstalled from AVG.

    Thanks for the help.
