Does FTPS suffers from insecurity when establishing a connection?

    Hello,

I am trying install FTP on a server. I found the following tutorial:
    https://www.digitalocean.com/communi...-an-ubuntu-vps

In the last paragraph this says "This setup improves the security of FTP, but it still suffers from insecurity when establishing a connection. If at all possible, it is better to switch to SFTP for these kinds of operations."

So is FTPS secure? Or somehow password is not secure when establishing connection?

Yes, all the traffic via FTP is not encrypted at all so your data is transmitted encrypted. I will suggest you to use SFTP instead of FTP since SFTP is using the SSH encryption. You can find a good SFTP client at WinSCP :: Free SFTP and FTP client for Windows
