anything thats done in PHP can be done is ASP.NET. I prefer ASP.NET over PHP anyday, cause php imho sucks.

So go for ASP.NET

iono asp cause thats old and more difficult, and not oop. asp.net you have a zillion languages to choice from. but vb.net and C# are most common. but php and asp.net both have 1 thing or another over each other. I prefer to get away from php cause I don't like it and I found it to be more of a pain than I did with asp.net. But i have no idea about what ur talking about

A guy who has an asp.net avatar is of course gonna tell you to go with asp.net

Any language should be fine as long as you're proficient in it.

Exactly, not that asp is bad but if you've learned php so far you may want to consider sticking with one thing at a time until you have it down. Unless you're an ultra geek who can learn 50 languages at a time.

Just do a little of both. One at a time. And see what you prefer. Which would you consider to fit your needs. Then go from there.

I know I am a little late to join in the conversation, but I would reccomend:
  • Java Applet
  • AJAX
  • JS with a PHP/MySQL Back-end
I would recommend something like GTGE if you decide to do an applet. If you choose AJAX, you might consider learning XML. And the last one would probably be the easiest for you, but also a little more work.
