MMORPG game devlopment

Hi,

I have been for the last 10 years dreaming of creating an mmorpg game, but i need help.

The plan is to create a 2d game, make sure the servers all work correctly, then deploy the game, make sure that's ok, then get people subscribing. easy in principle, hard in truth!

My thoughts are to have a GUI client similar to WOW/Eve-online that sends encrypted data to the server, the server then sends back vital run data to the client, the game then loads.

I am looking for volunteers or people willing to help from concept to deployment.

I have the game planned out, all i need are the programmers, graphics designers etc etc.

I myself have done a little vb.net as well as a lot of web work. I also know a lot about computers and there hardware.

what language are we talking because there are a few things i can do to help you out. I know some average level programming im a desent artista and i have all the tools to do 2d or 3d anything, I aslo have the music programs to do sound, however I know absolutely nothing about networking.

I'm also interested to build one but never try before and I have no experience on it. Now, learning DirectX

A bit of advice, don't pick an an MMO as a first project. Start with something small, like a 2d platformer. Then do an RPG. Then convert that RPG into an ORPG. if you get some support, maybe one day it will become an MMORPG.

Thats the trouble with everyone that wants to do game its always MMORPG. Do they even know that the task is near to impossible to create if its only one person. Like I respect it but everyone wants to create a MMORPG. I admit I did til I played one then I realized the task and didn't bother. Cause the resources and people to develop one is harder than you think. Even a gaming company. Its takes years to make and still has bugs up the butt.

MMO's are the shiznit atm, their popularity will die down eventually. FPS were on top for a while. I expect the next big hit will be some kind of MMO/RTS mix. Live action gameplay, with classic MMO levleing.

Yes, except a little more permanent that that. Instead of an RTS with an RPG twist, it would be an MMO with a RTS twist.
