Available: Volunteer Beginner .Net Programmer

I have been playing with .NET programming for the past yer but find I am unable to grow with out real projects and mentoring. I am willing to work for free just to gain programming experience. I already have a full time job however would be willing to devote the rest of my waking hours to programming if I had the following:

1. A project and end goal.
2. A mentor.

I'm to poor to really afford school so I'm pretty much all Book/Lab experienced. I have Visual Studio.Net Acedemic edition. I've mostly used VB.NET though am trying to get into ASP.NET as well. Once I have more knowledge than simply "create form, make buttons and such, event handlers, some procedures, connect to database, pull data, etc" I would like to get into C++. Then COM for ActiveX mainly. I look forward to any one who is willing to help me grow in the world of Programming.

Thanks for your time. Feel free to PM me.

I have something you may be interested in.
I've created an asp.NET app (using VB) for a laboratory to help with analyses but now they would like it as a standalone app (I'm thinking vb.NET).
I can specify the job fairly completely having already done it. But can't be bothered cluttering myself with learning the finer details of VB as I only occassionally use it.
I don't expect things to do done for nothing. This is a fairly simple job (more complex for me) and as has been done in asp.NET it may suit your requirements.

Let me know what you think and we can take it from there.

Geoff

Volunteer Beginner .Net Programmer

I just want to update this post to inform people that I am still seeking work on a volunteer basis. I am still developing as a VB.Net programmer though I will soon be attending C++ a class to aid in my Asp.Net ActiveX Control developement. Please stay tuned for more of my developing skills.

Current ablilities in VB.Net
Basic form creation of most any default form tool.
Database interaction with an SQL Server, though I am Oracle Certified. So I probably could get my programming skills together to work with Oracle databases. I've just had more real life experience under SQL Databases.
