database development project
The City of Fitchburg, Wisconsin is interested in purchasing software to assist the Building Inspection department in day to day operations. Currently the Building Inspection Department performs about 10,000 inspections per year, including property maintenance, new construction, etc.
The Building Inspection Dept has three full time employees and shares clerical services with other departments. Records are currently maintained in an MS-Access based database; this database only includes data from building permit applications and not actual inspections.
Ideally, any system purchased would:
----------------------------------------------
* Allow staff to take handheld devices (Palm/Windows CE/Tablet PC) into the field for inspections.
* Allow field records to be easily added/synchronized with a network database.
* Utilize our existing network infrastructure, which includes NetWare 6/6.5, Apache, mysql, PHP and GroupWise 6.5.
* Microsoft SQL based solutions will also be considered. The City is also currently purchasing financial & accounting software. If we need to add a Windows-based server and database for the accounting package, MS-SQL-based building permit solutions may be competitive.
Please contact URL if your firm is interested in providing a solution for the City of Fitchburg.
Thanks
