Demand for price estimate for x-cart customization

PLEASE REQUEST WORD FILE FROM ME, AS PICTURES IS NOT SHOWN IN THIS POST. HOWEVER, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND MOST WITHOUT. THANKS!

Demand specification for custom work: Selling paint through x-cart

We are a Danish start-up company selling paints and tools for painting (brushes etc) online.
As of now we are focused only on the Danish market, therefore our pages and buttons etc. will be in Danish.

We want to customize x-cart to meet the requirements involved in selling paints with our approach to discounts and workflow. This involves the following changes to the standard setup:
1. Drop down top menu for navigating our information pages (pages on our company, advice on painting, download of brochures etc.)
2. Fold down left menu for simple navigation of complex product categories (two or more steps in choosing product)
3. Electronic colour card that returns a colour code to the order – or lets the customer enter a code found elsewhere e.g. in the local paint store (bypassing the colour card)
4. Changed design of how products are shown – e.g. enabling us to show different size options under the same picture and description
5. Easy login providing access to discounted prices immediately reflected in the catalogue – with management of discount groups and products.
6. Special offers on the front page
7. General design changes customizing our shop to the design we want

The solution to all of the above must have easy management of content and design enabling us to make future changes ourselves.

Each of theses changes are specified in the following. We would like to receive a fixed price offer on the changes:
- The offer should specify prices for each component and a combined price.
- Please also include relevant references (customization of x-cart for other clients)
- You are welcome to suggest changes to our specification – especially if your suggestions allow you to bid with a cheaper price.

General description of workflow:
To sell a bucket of paint, we would like to establish a workflow as follows:
1) Option for entering a login for customers, that have a discount code. The new prices must then be shown in the catalogue. Entering the login must return a new welcome page stating something like “welcome as chosen customer with discount prices. All prices now reflect the discounts on each individual products. For instance your prices on paint are 20% below our regular prices”. If the customer does not have a login, he og she will simply begin shopping by choosing products in the category-menu (left menu) – step 2 below:
2) Browse for product (e.g. type of paint) in left hand menu involving a six step flow (a to f below):
a. First you choose and click on e.g. “indoor paint” in the left hand menu (categories)
b. then a sub menu unfolds with different options e.g. “wall paint”, “ceiling paint” and “wood paint”.
c. If you choose e.g. wall paint, you the go to a product page with short descriptions on the different kinds of wall paint (different qualities) and choose one
d. Then you choose a product size. In Denmark most paint is sold in on of three kinds of white. We therefore want to offer a combination of colour and size. If you choose a white colour, you can place the size you want directly in the cart, but if you want a different colour, you hit a button called “vælg farve (choose colour) next to the size, you want.
e. You then choose a colour on a colour card (approximately 200 available) or by entering a code from e.g a printed colour card
f. Add this customized product to the cart
3) Continue 1-4 until ready to place order and pay…
4) Place order and pay (as normally done in x-cart)

1) Drop down top menu for navigating our information pages (pages on our company, advice on painting, download of brochures etc.)
For navigation of information pages (not the shop and catalogue) we want a top navigation pane with the following:
• Drop down sub menus appear on mouse over – even if you don´t click
• letter based, not graphics (so download is faster and we can change it easily)
• we must be able to change design, e.g. font size and colour easily
• With easy administration for sequence and content (content management feature enabling us to change things easily).
• Must not be based on java - but java script is ok (we don´t want java as many users don't have this installed).
• Must not be based on frames
• Example: URL top menu

2) Fold down left menu for simple navigation of complex product categories
For navigation the product categories we want a fold down menu where sub categories folds down on mouse click
• letter based, not graphics (so download is faster and we can change it easily)
• With easy administration for sequence and content (content management feature enabling us to change things easily).
• we must be able to change font size and colour easily
• Must not be based on java but javascript is ok.
• Must not be based on frames
• Example: URL left menu – but we want the menu to stay unfolded after a subcategory has been chosen with bold highlighting the choice made – so users will know what category they are in an have easy access to other choices… This principle can be seen at this illustrational example: URL – try clicking the top left button – a left hand menu then appears. We are looking for something like this, as the menu stays unfolded here.

3) Electronic colour card that returns a colour code to the order – or lets the customer enter a code
• We would like the customers to be able to choose colour when the right product is found. Colours are chosen in one of two ways:
- by pressing a button “Vælg farve” (choose colour) links to a page with the different colours presented – the colour card.
- By entering a code in a field after “Skriv farvekode” (enter colour code). The “Skriv farvekode” should be active as a link that opens a pop up window explaining about colour codes and where to get them
• If a customer chooses a colour from the colour card the chosen colour should then be a property on the product – and it should be shown on the product as a code, so customers will know that a colour has been added.
• The colour card must show both colour and a code as well as two links: “Vælg” (choose) and “Forstør” (Enlarge). Thus, a sequence of six colours should be placed in a sequence like this (note this shows the sequence, not the actual design):

S 0505-Y50R [Vælg] S 0505-Y50R [Vælg] S 0505-Y50R [Vælg]
[Forstør] [Forstør] [Forstør]

S 0505-Y50R [Vælg] S 0505-Y50R [Vælg] S 0505-Y50R [Vælg]
[Forstør] [Forstør] [Forstør]
Colours can be defined as Hexdecimal colour (for example black #000000)

• For each colour we want customers to be able to see a larger sample. This can simply be a pop up window with the colour (e.g. URL) – or it can be a picture, where the colour is placed on the wall (e.g. URL - although we suspect this will be too expensive in the first version, and so we might save this for a later stage)
• The colour card should work in resolution 800X600 or higher and should be able to handle up to at least 1000 colours (based on scrolling down to see all colours)
• (We don’t want java script on our site, as some users don’t have it but javascript is ok. – Flash might be OK as well)
• The colour card should have easy administration for sequence and content (content management feature enabling us to change things easily). We have colour codes for the screen that we can enter into the “colour card content management system”
• We want to be able to create different colour cards for different products (e.g. different colour cards for outdoor paint and indoor paint)
• We want to be able to place the colour card as an information page in the top menu as well – that is a version outside the workflow of the shopping process. Thus, using this version will not ad a product to the card, but only inspire the customer.

For illustration purpose only we have included screen shots (colour chooser taken from a competing site).

When colour is chosen in step 2a or 3 the colour code and colour will be shown on the product page.

4) Changed design of how products are shown enabling us to show different size options under the same picture and description
As noted earlier, in Denmark most paint is sold in on of three kinds of white. We therefore want to offer a combination of colour and size in the same window – enabling customers to choose different kinds of white and size in one click: If you choose a white colour, you can place the size you want directly in the cart, but if you want a different colour, you hit a button called “vælg farve (choose colour) next to the size, you want.

An illustrative example of the combination of colours and sizes are given below:
Light raw white 10 L Price 1 [Quantity] [Ad to cart]
Raw white 10 L Price 2 Quantity [Ad to cart]
White 10 L Price 3 Quantity [Ad to cart]
White 5 L Price 4 Quantity [Ad to cart]
White 2,5 L Price 5 Quantity [Ad to cart]
Other colour 10 L Price 6 Quantity [Choose colour] or enter code from colour card [_____________]
Other colour 5 L Price 7 Quantity [Choose colour] or enter code from colour card [_____________]
Other colour 2,5 L Price 8 Quantity [Choose colour] or enter code from colour card [_____________]

We want to be able to create tables with different numbers of products in them.

An illustrative example of how such different options can be shown for the same product is given below. Note: We do not want this design, it is purely an illustrative example, we want a different design
