Job Description – Developer - Contract


We are looking for a Developer/Contractor for FreeReading.net, an open source early literacy intervention program. The contract would assume a time commitment of 5-15 hours a week, depending on the amount of work and maintenance needed. Contractors are expected to work from home.

Responsibilities and Requirements of Developer - Contract:


-Coding new features for FreeReading, which might include changes to the functionality, design presentation, or underlying framework of the site, and performing maintenance on existing pieces of the codebase.

-Experience with PHP, MySQL, Mediawiki, HTML, CSS and JavaScript are all recommended.

-Versatility and creativity are essential; many aspects of site development allow for a great deal of developer autonomy.

-Must be available to offer support in the event of live site malfuntions.
