Freelance websites
I found numerous freelance auction web sites... but, i wonder if anyone could post a couple good links to the freelance posting boards ("Hire a programmer" or something like that) for programmers, web- designers/developers that work at home (but not auctions). I'm new to this and any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I find the prices to be non-competitive for an American freelancer. You're up against the whole world here, yknow?
Indian and Russian freelancers tend to lowball. It's hard to get something rolling I've found. Anyone had a similar/disimilar experience?

I have tryed both scriptlance and rentacoder and in my opinion rentacoder is much more suitable. Rentacoder is well constructed site: there are a lot of feautures which make easier to search jobs and to work on projects.

Why don't all of you guys think outside RAC's 15% and try CoderCC's 8% http://www.codercc.com

By "all" you of course mean the only two of us that even mentioned RAC right? Good. CoderCC seems to have a whole 12 projects open. I'll stick with RAC. |

Alright your call... But why dont you take a look at the article http://rentacoderfraud.bravehost.com/
If your comparing the number of open auctions, yes RAC does have more... But CoderCC is faster (Linux compared to RAC's Microsoft Server), better commission rate (8% compared to RAC's 15%), and more options. What do I mean by more options? Well coders can sell their projects (images, programs, documents). The affiliate program being developed is much more advanced than anything RAC is running. Sure they have more people, but they also have a 3 year head start. CoderCC is newer (launced August 1, 2004). CoderCC will catch up. I'll stick with CoderCC ![]() |

"Facts" from http://rentacoderfraud.bravehost.com/ This buyer had 10 arbitrations out of his total 40 which he always won with 10 different coders Facts from buyer's profile This buyer (safrica2) had 28 paid projects and 10 arbitrations before 2005-01-13. Now - about arbitrations. Please, read seven quotes from buyer's profile. He had won 4 arbitrations. Results: 1. Coder miss deadline. All funds in escrow were returned to safrica2 (the buyer). 2. The coder (program.ar) did not respond to arbitration. The buyer (safrica2) was awarded the remaining funds. 3. The coder (leader) told the buyer (safrica2) he would not complete the work. Funds were returned to the buyer. 4. Mr.Amir Ali Tayyab arbitration. All funds in escrow were returned to safrica2. This buyer (safrica2) had pay after 3 arbitrations. Results: 1. The buyer (safrica2) accepted the coder's (vinishpv) work as 100% complete and released the funds to them. 2. The buyer (safrica2) accepted the coder's (Infinitum-Media) work as 100% complete and released the funds to them. 3. ... The coder (Maksuco) disagreed, but did agree to accept 50% of the escrow money ... Conclusion: not "he always won with 10 different coders", but "He had won 4 arbitrations". Error? This error has been made on purpose: disparage RentACoder's service and arbitration process. I think - there are some more "facts" from http://rentacoderfraud.bravehost.com/ have the same purpose. I'm afraid I can see this thread getting out of hand. Everyone's had their chance to post their links, so this thread is now closed.
