re: upgrade

I'm guessing just a kernel upgrade? I know there are a lot of RedHat/Fedora fans out there so hopefully this next comment will be taken with a grain of salt and not get me booted out of here.... but, may I suggest Debian (or Debian-based) distro. The package manager is amazing. I started with Red Hat, then moved.
Anyway, regarding the kernel... I may be interested in assisting, but to tell the truth this is something you should do when physically at the machine, just in case... Really all you need to do get the kernel version you're wanting... hopefully already compiled for your distro (in which case you may find it as an RPM) and install. Depending on the install you may need to update your GRUB|LiLo... and there you go. Of course you might not be able to find an RPM so then you'll get the kernel source and do the Configure, Make, Make Install.

Make sense?

Feel free to email me: jc@mediaphyte.com Warning: sometimes I'm a little slow to respond when $ isn't involved... also if you don't hear back after a while, feel free to email again, my SpamAssasin may have killed the msg.
