Can someone tell me if there are any scripts that are like www.greatrentals.com or comparable scripts I can use. What language is this site in?

You will have to be MUCH more specific. What is the feature of this site that you want to replicate? Just looking at the extensions, it doesn't look like php or asp or anything as they are all just .html. I suppose they could be populating their html pages with a php script.

I want to create a website that will allow vacationers to search a database of condos, resorts, bed and breakfasts, and vacation homes nationwide and possible internationally.



The homes condos, or resorts on the website will be submitted by the owners. I will charge the owners a yearly fee to list their resort online.



I want the website to have picture galleries, availability calendars, rates, amenities etc. for each resort that is listed.



I want the owners that submit their property to have a user friendly platform that will allow them to submit all information and pictures for their property online.



I also want a simple way for potential vacationers to search through numerous properties with ease so that they may find the perfect vacation resort/condo with ease.

well the site is written in cold fusion, but you could write it in php, and i don't know what you mean by anything like this site, what specifically about it

well you can do all that in php, what about it do you not know how to write or search for? if you need help we can help you understand what you need to do, but you can't just give a big list and say "how do i do this", pick the specific thing that you do not know and ask about that

What do you mean by let you know? The answer to your original question is Yes, there are probably scripts out there that let you do this, and yes, you can write this kind of script in PHP as well as other languages such as CF. You can't just say "Tell me about this". It's like saying "Tell me about the Earth". YOU have to do some research and pin down exactly what it is you want, and then do some more searching to find how this can be accomplished. If you hit any snags, THEN you can come back and ask a thoughtful, well informed question.

Ah, so you're looking for a developer who you can commission to make the site for you? I'm sure plenty of us would take it on, but you will need a more detailed plan for what you want your site to be like.

What do you want it to look like? How do you intend to take payment? There are quite a few things you need to think about before engaging a developer, otherwise it will cost you a fortune when the dev makes a site that isn't what you wanted because you weren't specific enough, and then you have to pay him or a new dev to do it all again.

It's a bit like building a house. You wouldn't just say to a builder, "I want a house like that one over there," you would need to sit down and think about how many bedrooms you want, how many bathrooms, garages, that sort of thing.

I don't think anyone meant to be rude, it's just that this forum is for people who are making their own websites and need help with the code.

But again, I'll bet you will hear from a few people who are willing to take the project on if you put together your concept in more detail.
