Red Schoolhouse Software is a small software company in Los Angeles, California focused on providing web-based applications to school districts. We have an established client base in California, and have distinguished ourselves through our user-friendly products and our excellent customer service. We are looking to expand to new markets, and need an excellent software developer on board to help us grow. This could represent an excellent opportunity to get in on the 'ground floor' of a company that has great future potential. We are equally willing to consider a brilliant recent college grad with no experience as we are to consider an experienced developer with years of practical experience under his or her belt. Salary and schedule are both negotiable. Responsibilities ---------------- - Ongoing development and re-development of our software products - Maintain and enhance our website - System administration of our Linux and Mac OS X Servers, including backup, security, etc. - Provide some technical support to our clients Required Qualifications ----------------------- - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field - God-like skills with Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP - Excellent Linux (and Mac OS X) System Administration skills with special attention to system security - Impeccable attention to detail - Ability to juggle multiple tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Consummate team player Desired Qualifications ---------------------- - Proficiency with other programming languages: C, C++, Java, etc. - Competence with HTML, CSS, Javascript - An eye for design, layout and workflow Benefits -------- - Paid Time Off (Vacation, Illness) - Observance of Federal Holidays - Friendly, fun work environment - Flexible work hours - Free snacks and drinks Note: We do not offer medical benefits yet, but we hope to soon!
