This is easy, but will get very complicated, very very fast.
Writing a program that makes a backup of a users directory, and uploads that
to a website. Easy.
=== But ===
- Want about system changes, do you require system backup or only data backup?
- Client cannot touch directory while being backup (30 mins?), to change this gets more complicated
- Only client can read backup, makes the above even more complicated...
- client internet is completely blocked during 3 hour upload? to change that gets complicated
So what I am saying is that you need to give more description of what is required, or more information of what you are trying to achieve so that we can judge what is required...
If you are really interested in the solution to the problem and willing to spend some money on it, PM me...

sorry iam replying here i cant send you pm i got an error.
i just wanted to back up data.
and only the user can see there data. by logging on to the website with there own password and user name.
for example client A is johnny and he makes a user name and password on my site but in order to implement his account on my server/website i would have to approve it, or have some type of token i can give to him so that he will be able to create the account. once that happens lets say is username is johnny and password is 12345 ... so when he is on his computer he will open the software and there he will enter the user name and password then that will connect to my server and johnny will see other page were he can select a default option such as back up documents, pictures, music folder, and also have the option of selecting its own files for instance lets say he has a file in C:\XXXXXX then we would be able to select that file as well. the software must also have a scheduling option that the user can manage.
as for blocking the internet for the back up is it possible to make it an option in the software side?
Also as far as the user not being able to touch the data that would be grate as well but is it possible to make it optional in the software side?
if not then it i believe it would be better if there was an option where the scheduling process will automatically do block the internet for backup only and also block the access of data wield the back up is taking place and then just shutting down the computer when is finish. Also there should be an option to cancel the back up in case the user is doing a project or something.
