Hey, I figure I might as well see the kind of response I might get.
I'm familiar with 4 programming languages: VB, C, Perl, and Java. I've been programming for 6 years I guess and consider myself fairly advanced in VB, C, and Perl programming. I only know Java cause I had to learn it for a consultation project I've had in the past. I have no desire to work on webdesign, but am well capable and willing to work on perl CGI backends.
My programming works are no nonsense. I pride myself in clean efficient small code and high useability. Also, due to a lot of experience, I take a relatively short time to create a stable product. I've done this kind of thing for people in the past and am more than willing to give references.
I don't believe in being paid by the hour. I give price quotes depending on how much time and effort I
think a given project may require of me. Here's a couple of examples:
1) Light-weight domain resolver written in C in 24 hours with instructions that it does not use gethostbyname; With source: $100. The code was put to use in resolution for web crawler script for a search engine.
2) Windows rexec client and server compatible with the linux/unix rexec client and server written in Visual Basic in 1 week with custom installer, uninstaller, AND manageable from the Windows services list. With source: $150. The product was put to use in automating remote task execution on windows servers by mainframes.
I also don't believe in software copyrights. Any projects you pay me to develop are completely yours to modify, distribute, and even sell. You don't have to give me credit and can even say you wrote it yourself! heh Also, I provide free email support for any projects I write for you.
But don't think I'm desperate for work. I'm just as likely to refuse a project as accept. Particularly I find database related projects tiresome and am generally not interested. So take some comfort that if I do accept a given project it will be given every bit of my attention.
So if you DO have a project in mind and wasn't simply curious about what I had to say, send me an email at the below form. I'm a friendly helpful person and am willing to offer all kinds of advice even if I decline a given project.
