Affiliate Linking Script
Hi,
I need help with some script that would benefit my affiliate website so much!
Say, I am listing an item from Bestbuy on my website with an affiliate link. Bestbuy has an affiliate program with Partner Gateway, and I get the commission only when visitors click through the links that are created using Partner Gateway's "creating link" program. Since I like to make specific links depending on products, I have to log into Partner Gateway everytime I want to create a link for a specific item and make it there. It becomes really tough when a merchant don't even offer links to specific items.
But, I saw from some other affiliate websites that they have their own php scripts usually in the format of http://domain.com/go.php?"product_url" where "product_url" is just merchant's link to specific item, not the link through affiliate programs. For example, bargainshare is the one using this go.php script. I also saw some other sites using links such as "http://www.domain.com/jump.php?deal=dell&arg="product_url"".
I don't think these scripts mentioned above have same source codes as the affiliate programs like linkshare or Partner Gateway. What I am guessing is, they are sending the visitors to affiliate link first and then redirect to that specific product url. For example, if one clicks on Bestbuy Compaq Laptop link, he would be guided to Bestbuy affiliate link(created through Partner Gateway) first and then guided to that specific url that is parsed as variable. What do you guys think? If my thought is right, how should I program such a script? Please let me know and any help would be really appreciated as I am so desperate. And sorry for such a long post. I tried to explain thoroughly.. I searched for hours and hours and no luck.. and even tried to program myself but did not work out.
Thank you.
