Unless you have some special computer no one has heard of, you're not going to get 3 dimensional coordinates from a mouse click.

You can just make the image an input element and clicking on it will submit the x and y coordinates of where it was clicked. Use any scripting langauge to process the coordinates.

<input type="image" value="mypic.jpg">

You can get 3d coordinates from a mouse click using the vtk libraries. try www.atamai.com. They mostly do medical imaging but you never know. Tell em Andrew Wheatley recommended them.

what exactly do you need?
from what i understand you need a cad/cam program.. right?
something that will take a cad drawing and make a machine code out of it (aka G Code)...
If so it's a bit more complex than meets the eye but duable as long as you can provide the machine type controller etc...
i'm sure i can help you out with it just need to know a lot more info.... PM me if you're still interested, i've done this before,
i was a field tech for cnc machines / lasers etc. for a while and i made some post processors in my time...
anyways let me know....
