Seeking a programmer

New to the forum but it will indoubtedly be a valuable resource!

We are seeking a programmer to act as a consultant to help develop our online game based loosely on the Inheritence Cycle by Christopher Paolini. It's meant to be a generic version to avoid any legal conflicts with copyrights so the components will be very similar. We had a full team in place but our programmer has taken full time employment and is too sporradic to rely upon.

The position will be as a free/cheap consultant to start then into full game programmer. We are going to finish development of the game foundation (mostly concept) then utilize the Kickstarter site (please look at their site for viability)
to begin funding. The plan is to start funding and make a new offering at each phase for cash flow and to build game/project popularity. We plan to have several offerings for the project via Kickstarter to generate enough funds for development and startup of the game. Once we gain some funds for a starting budget we'll start actual hard development of the game.

Currently we have a domain, a website and a forum for the game and development team. We'll finish the website as soon as the game concept is finished and before the first phase offering on kickstarter. We have a lot of the concept done for the game and we are starting concept art currently but we need a programmer to consult on it before we go further.

Just to reiterate, the position will be a paid position and the project will run on a budget. We aren't looking for a programmer to generate a free game engine. We realize programmers are highly skilled and well paid. We simply need something realistic and reliable to start the funding process. Once we start some money flowing the staff will be paid positions only.

I currently fund the domain, site and forum out of my pocket so I would like to get away from "out of pocket funding" and work with a real and decent budget. I believe Kickstart will allow us to do that if well planned. If this goes well, I am interrested in starting a small indie game development company. Many of our team members are college students that could use some extra money, I would liketo be able to build on this and provide them with jobs if they wish to continue on in this direction. My goals are to these ends...I just happen to love video games!
