Senior Business Analyst - Global Leader in Investment Management - CHICAGO

DEFINITION OF THE ROLE:
From day one, you will be working alongside and learning from some of the best and brightest individuals in the industry. This position is responsible for partnering with the front office business units to understand business needs and translate those needs into technical requirements. You will also work next to traders and developer to develop business, functional and technical requirements. In this role, you will ensure that all requirements meet the group’s high quality of standards by working with the quality assurance team to support full functional regression and performance testing.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Undergraduate degree in business, computer science or a related field. Master preferred;
* 5+ years experience as a business analyst in a trading or non-retail banking environment (process mapping, use casing requirements definition and documentation);
* Domain expertise and significant experience in any of the following is highly desired: Risk management for Volatility/ Derivatives, Order Management, Equity Finance/Prime Broker or Data (static and derived) products;
* Experience with third party front-office systems software or with sell side firms is a plus;
* In-depth experience using MS Visio and Project (Experience with a methodological approach to process mapping and requirements definition (e.g., Rational, BPR, RAD, UML, use casing);
* Thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle;
* Knowledge and experience with the following technologies: C++, VC++, Perl, Unix (Solaris/Linux/AIX), Sybase;
* Knowledge and testing in two of the following environments: UNIX, Windows, Perl, IQ or SQL.
* Proficiency with Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint;
* Proven ability to manage multiple requests/requirements at the same time;
* Proven leadership experience;
* Project management skills from planning to implementation;
* Interpretive & persuasive written & verbal communications skills.
