Senior PHP/MySQL Developer Needed (Full-time, On-site in Los Angeles)

Hi all:

A few years ago, I had an idea to develop an application that would be helpful to the school district I worked for. For about a year, I read many books and spent a lot of time in these forums to learn Linux, MySQL and PHP. The application I developed, called the Online Assessment Reporting System (OARS), was adopted by my district and other districts soon approached me about licensing it.

Four years later, with a little luck and plenty of hard work, I've parlayed that original project into a successful business, and I provide OARS as well as training and support, to almost 100 school districts in California.

About 6 months ago, I hired a developer to take over for me, so that I could spend my time on sales and marketing. Unfortunately, he was a huge disappointment, and never produced the quality I was hoping for. The good news is, he decided to leave on his own a few weeks ago.

So now I want to hire a developer, and I want a really good one. I want someone who is really talented and bright, who has excellent PHP skills, can create complex MySQL queries, and even has a little designer's flair. For the perfect person, I am willing to pay top dollar. As the company grows, so will this developer's responsibiities and salary.

You can see the full position description here.

If you yourself are not interested, but know someone who might be, please let me know. Furthermore, if you have suggestions for improving the job listing I've posted, I'd really value your thoughts.

Thanks!
Axel

Axel

While this isn't in the cards for me, I did want to give kudos where they are deserved. Your post here and especially your specifics on the job board are well laid out. There is no doubt you should be able to find a good candidate with such an accurate and well worded job description. I wish I saw more notices like yours and not the vague stuff that passes off as a job description in many ads.
