Wanted: PHP Developer
Summary
We are looking to hire an experienced PHP developer for a long term position within our company to work primarily on client custom development projects.

About Olate Ltd
Based in England, UK, Olate launched in April 2003 with the free webmaster resource olate.com. Olate Ltd is now an internationally known company primarily developing internet related software for use by software developers and website owners. With strong ties with other software developers, Olate is in the best position to deliver the software to where it is needed.

Olate Ltd is a Registered Limited Company in England and Wales, company number 5352981.

Position
We have recently had a large number of requests for custom development projects and need to expand in order to meet demand. A successful candidate would work within the existing team to deliver client projects. The job would include:
  • Working closely with the client to deliver the project to their exact needs
  • Use of our project management system to ensure the client is kept up to date
  • Development using PHP/MySQL to create applications for the client whilst adhering to our existing style and coding standards
  • Testing the application for bugs
  • Short and long term maintenance of completed projects

Ideal Requirements
The following skills are considered ideal for this position:
  • Detailed experience with PHP4 and PHP5 and object orientated programming
  • Experience with MySQL as database of choice
  • Reasonable (X)HTML/CSS experience (although we already have a designer, experience with this would be an advantage)
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Good communication skills (English language fluency essential)

Location
The successful client would work from home and liaise with the team through e-mail and instant messaging. Communication with the client would be via e-mail. Although Olate Ltd is based in the UK, geographical location is not important.

Work Requirements
The successful candidate would work only when a client project is secured. This would not be a full time job at this time although we are seeking a long term relationship. The successful candidate may also be asked to work on internal projects.

Payment
Payment would be a percentage based upon the charge to the client for the project. However, we are open to negotiation on pay schemes which can be discussed at a later stage of applying for the position.
