Job Responsibilities:
We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and passionate web developer to join the Web Services team within Synopsys Marketing. The Web Services team is responsible for building and maintaining Synopsys external websites, including for example synopsys.com, asiapac.synopsys.com, research.synopsys.com, and open-vera.org, as well as several internal websites. This position involves developing both front end and server-based solutions for a wide range of websites and web applications -- from regular daily website updates and maintenance to development of database-backed web applications. The candidate will work closely with other web team members, designers, IT, and internal customers (marketing communications, product marketing) to develop and enhance the web experience for users of Synopsys external and internal websites. He or she should have a proven track record of delivering high quality websites and web-based applications, and have a solid understanding of web design and development. This job requires a self-motivated individual who possesses good communication and project management skills, plus the ability to work with others from a variety of creative and business disciplines to conceive innovative solutions. The successful candidate should believe in utilizing the most appropriate technology available as a tool to deliver solutions that solve business issues on time, on budget, and on scope. He or she should possess the ability to explore and experiment with new technologies and provide an assessment of the viability of new technologies for a specific problem.
Job Requirements:
BA/BS with 5+ years of relevant experience. Extensive experience and knowledge in HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, CGI, PERL, PHP, SQL required; knowledge of XML, XSLT a plus. Candidate should be proficient and comfortable working with UNIX environment and developing web applications that write to mySQL database; knowledge of Oracle database and additional scripting languages such as JSP a plus. He or she should have a strong command of web standards and experience in designing, implementing and testing websites that work across multiple browsers and platforms. The ideal candidate must be deadline driven and understand the importance of brand consistency. Time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently are both critical. Candidate should have excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships quickly. He or she should be motivated to improve the development environment and deliver better performance to our external and internal customers.
