If anyone can help with this dilemma, it would be greatly appreciated. I've
been searching on and off for months... Here's what I want (need) to do, ideally. I want to be able to select from several different sound files (preferably midi) within the same page. I'd like to play each sound by clicking on an image. Each image corresponds with a different sound. Each sound does not open a new 'instance' of the media player. No media player is visible. Alternatively, I would play each sound with it's own button next to the corresponding image. Any good ideas??? JavaScript??? Java applet??? (These sounds and images are musical examples for music theory and ear training.) Thanks for listening! Kenny-Z Minneapolis, MN kenezmn@hotmail.com |

It can be done in JS. Its just a little tricky because Netscape and Internet Explorer do things two different ways. It could be done by using a script to play the sound and use an EMBED tag to put the soundfile into the webpage which works in both NS and IE however ive been told the EMBED tag no longer works in IE5. Ill play around with it for awhile and see what I come up with. You should ask this question in another forum that I frequent. There are alot of us Gurus there to work on the problem. Just post this in the forum at:
