Are critique requests acceptable?

I'm thinking it's ok, but in case I step on toes or offend anyone - my apoligies in advance.

This is something I've been working on for a quite a while now. The site started life as a geocities hackjob 4 years ago. I since bought some books and started coding with notepad. I think I still have a lot to learn before I can seriously begin looking for work on the side, which is why I ask for a few critiques now. I'm really not sure where my weaknesses are, or what I'm doing well.

Another site I did 6 months ago is: http://gartra.home.mindspring.com ... I think the first site is definately stronger, but I thought I'd put this one out also.

I appreciate your comments in advance. Feel free to be tough, btw
