Basic question (i guess)
can anyone tell me if there is a comand when creating a link, that will automatically open the document or file in its associated application.? Every time I click on a testdoc I receive the question of: " Do you wish to save ? Do you wish to run from current location?" Is there a switch or command I can place in the to open the doc automatically ? Regards: Ryan |

I'm not sure as I'm quite new to HTML myself, but I would think that this is a browser specification, perhaps due to security considerations??

Ryan Spain,
if you are using IE 5.0 or latest versions of browsers, then it will open "*.doc" file automatically.but previous versions of the browsers will promt you whether you want run it or save it. << Is there a switch or command I can place in the to open the doc automatically ? >> no commands are thier for this. ------------------ SR - shiju.dreamcenter.net "I will love thee, O Lord,my strength" |

If the mime type is set up in IE 4 or 5, a ".doc" file will open a MS Word document INSIDE the browser window. If the mime type is not set up, you will get the "save/open" deal.
