***From Alan Schuetz: I was wondering if you could assist with a dilemma that I have. A client of mine insists on using Stencil.ttf as a part of their "brand recognition" on marketing materials -- including web content.
1. Is there a way to determine the client-side operating system using JavaScript? 2. Assuming that Windows is the operating system, is there a way to determine the Windows directory using JavaScript? The default is C:Windows. 3. Assuming that we have determined the Windows directory, how would one copy the Stencil.ttf file from the server to the client's Fonts directory? The default is C:WindowsFonts on the client side. Note: A mixture of ASP 3 and JavaScript may be employed in the final solution. Many thanks in advance... |

Go here http://www.webreference.com/tools/b...javascript.html to help you with your first question.
There is a more simple way of using a certain font for a website - font embedding. Go to http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey.../tutorial2.html to help get you started. |
