I'm looking for a way to detect the (customized) colors of the windows desktop and browser tool bars. How is this possible? I want to read these properties in order to dynamically set my html page to reflect the visitors personal color preferences. Thanks.

javascript is really meant not to have access to anything outside of your browser. So you probably won't be able to do this with js alone.

Furthermore, you are assuming that the person browsing your page has a windows os. You may be in a controlled environment where this is a safe assumption, but I would imagine that is not the case
