HI,
I have a problem. I'm doing the database search, I'm displaying the search results into HTML table in the browser. So what i want to do is i'm placing a button(download) in that search results page,If i click that download button all the data in the html table should be displayed in the Excel sheet right in the browser.I'm using HTML only.I know the way to do this with JAVA or ASP.But what about html. Can anybody help me.I;m in a desparate need of that. Thanx sree sreeni22@yahoo.com Someone has told that i can get the activeX control. How can i do that using HTML alone.I can not go for ASP objects. Please suggest me. thanx [Edited by bhavanams on 01-30-2001 at 06:56 AM] |

This is going to be a pretty vague answer...
I've seen ActiveX objects (can only be used in IE) that will format data returned from a search in what 'appears' to be an Excel sheet. It was possible to reorder the fields but manipulating the data wasn't. Do you need to be able to make modifications to the Excel sheet then save it back to the database? If so you're probably looking at a pretty full on document management system like Tahoe/Sharepoint (by Microsoft). There may be ASP COM objects available somewhere that could at least generate the Excel sheet but I don't know how you'll go with the rest of it. |
