Is there a way to use JavaScript to determine:
(1)whether a user has a CD-ROM drive; and (2)what the drive's name is? If so, can I write a script to play a media file on the CD (i.e. - a video file -- to avoid streaming)? TIA for your help. |

There is no way to do that with JavaScript, you will need something like a Java Applet to do that, and even then you have to ask the user for permission.
