Web development can be a daunting task, even for specialists. There is a lot of information to absorb and a lot of technologies to learn in order to manage a superior website. When trying to learn the ropes, developers need a reliable source to introduce new ideas that can be easily implemented. Div help / counter/ticker and list counter required [i think !]

Hi, im still very new at this [this is my second post here, got some great help the first time with another issue so thought i would try again]

Im learning web dev at Uni but more so on my own, i have been taking sites, replicating them to help me understand how code works, what happens if i remove bits / add bits etc, etc [basically breaking them and putting them back together slightly different]

I would like to do the following to the attcahed site

A: add a countdown clock / ticker. I have the code required but I am having problems getting it to sit right, I also expect problems as I think i may have an issue putting it on a textured / patterned background - i could be wrong]
B : add a list counter connected to a mail chimp list. Mail chimp gived you them for free but they come with the mailchimp logo, which makes it look pants, I would like numbers only. If anyone knows how to do it ?
C : to most people on here this would be the easiest but i have been fiddling with this for days now and i am getting nowhere, I would just like the sign up box and button to fit within the width of the text below as per the image. [you will see in the attached files what it looks like]

If anyone would be up for a skype / facebook live tutorial showing me I would be in your debt forever !!!

[I assume the counter belongs in the java forum section but i thought i would keep it all here]

Thanks,

any more questions, just ask

Mark

now that i have written all this i cant see where to attach files !!!! sake !!![IMG]

Welcome to DevShed Forums, marktmcewan.

As you found out new users are restricted from posting URLs until they have made 5 posts. You may need to get around this by leaving out the "http://" and putting a space before each ".". Yes this rule is annoying, but the administrators say it's necessary for limiting spam.

There is also a policy that prevents users from posting attachments until they have 30 posts and have been a member for 30 days, so if needed http://imageshack.us/ can be used to host images.

There's no guarantee that anyone will answer you. Many threads go unanswered.

There do seem to be a few reasons why no one has replied to this thread. (1) Asking to hide the logo of the company that's providing a script to you for free seems like a breach to the spirit of the terms-of-use if not an explicit breach. (2) We can't do much without seeing any of your code or images how how you wants things to look. (3) Do you really expect someone would walk you through this in private for free? It would have been better to not include that bit of wishful thinking. (4) Yes, it would have been better for you to ask your "C" question in a separate thread.

P.S. JavaScript and Java are two rather different languages. You mean the former.
