I need to makes sure that users don't input extremely long lines of text with no spaces into a text area box.

How can I make it so that if more than 20 letters, numbers or symbols are input...then a space is automatically inserted?

This form is generated from an interactive story perl script which is extremely easy to customize. I just don't know how to set something like this up for the text area box.

    Thank very much!

restrict user dont enter extremely long line:

    try this
    <textarea name="form_msg" ROWS=10 COLS=50 WRAP="HARD"></textarea>

I am not familar in Perl.
For PHP, there is a function trim() which can
    remove space?
