Hi Devshedders!

For my university research project, I'm researching the possibilities of an intelligent forum, which needs less supervision from the webmaster.
Therefore I've tried to find some design guidelines/forum-tutorials e.d. No result so far.
Can anyone help me with my quest?

Note: I know how to implement. So I'm only looking for theory on forum-architecture, functional-maps or design guidelines.
