hi,
i have written a shopping cart program using javascript, the page is on: http://www.geocities.com/minacute_uk/shop_frame.htm the items you click to buy will display on the right hand frame on the same page. but if user click the Back button, the items bought by the user will get deleted from the shopping list. This is confusing for the user and is not what I want. Is there any way to stop this happening ? I have not yet use cookie, if i use cookie, will it solve the problem. any help is much appreciated. thanks in advance. |

Have you tried opening a small "shopping cart" as a pop up window. Normally, I find pop ups irritatiing, but as a shopping cart, it almost makes sense. You click around through a website, and as you "shop" you "cart" (pop up) fills up. When you write the selected items to a separate window this should isolate those contents somewhat from the activities of the opener window.
