Hi,
I want to trigger my bottom frame to be hidden/shown from the user when the user clicks on "Close Frame"/"Open Frame" inthe mainpage without losing the data that has been entered by the user in the form that is in the frameset mainpage. Any ideas? Thanks, Darcy |

Well, I'm not quite sure what you mean by keeping the data in the bottom frame. What I was thinking of, if you have two forms, one in the top frame and one in the bottom, when the user clicks to hide the frame on the bottom, the form data in the bottom form will appear in a new window. If you reply to me with a more specific description, I might be able to help you.

Hi,
I figured it out for IE5 by using dynamic frames. What I was doing was making a wizard that users could hide as they fill out our forms. The only way that I had found to do this was by refreshing the frame. But that caused them to lose the data they had entered into the form if they closed the wizard before they submitted the form. I wasn't sure if there was a way to cache that information so that it was maintained when the frame refreshed. If you want to see the code that I used, let me know and I'll email it to you. |

Ok, I think I have an idea of what you are trying to do. I have a good idea going at http://www.sitesuwant.com/frame.html. I'm having the same problem as you are trying to get the data to send in the second form. I'm closing in on solving this....just give me a while and I'll solve it.

I solved the problem! The file is located at http://www.sitesuwant.com/frame.html. You can close the wizard with the data inside, and you can submit on the main page and all the data will send. I'm having a slight problem with Netscape though. Tell me what you think, and if this was what you wanted.

Hi,
I tried to follow the link but got a File Not Found error... I had a problem with Netscape too. I don't think it supports dynamic frames. I got it to work in IE. Thanks! |
