How to disable the close button of a window

Is there any way to disable the close button of a window which was created using the open method of window. please help!

there is a way, but i dont think its with javascript, its either with VBScript, or activeX, neither of which i know how to write. an example of this is the windowsUpdate site - http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

while you are downloading your updates, try to close the "parent window" -- it wont close
