how to give download option for a .txt file

I have to give a download option for a .txt file if possible save it in a particular location of clients hard drive without prompt
since IE opens this link in a new window i really face a problem

if possible please reply with the code

You could make a zip file and put the text file in the zip,
or tell users to right click and hit save as...

But for what I know...I don't think you can change that...
