What is the most compatible way to put a frame/text inside a transparent part of a picture(ie without FixedBackground/Java/DHTML).

Thanks in advance.

you can use layer or DIV tag but they will only compatible with Netscape 4 and MSIE 4 or above.
The other way which I never thought before but sudenly hit my mind is by using table. Set up a table, and then set the background to the pic you want to use, set the table width and height equal to pic, and last you can type whatever you want inside table which will appear on top of the background pic.

you might want to set the table border to zero.

by the way ... please tell me if this work allright or if give you other problem ...

I can be contacted through zidharta@geocities.com
