Html Js Menu over embebed object?

I have the following problem:
I have an html menu that pops up with javascript on mouseover... works fine; except that it shows below the enbebed object.
Please! I need help urgently.

PHP Code:
<object width="480" height="374"

classid="clsid:02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B"

codebase="http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab">
                <
param name="src" value="<?php echo $sVideoFile; ?>">
                <
param name="autoplay" value="true">
                <
param name="controller" value="false">

                <
embed src="<?php echo $sVideoFile; ?>" width="480" height="374"

autoplay="true" controller="false"

pluginspage="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/">
                </
embed>

            </
object

Have you tried to play a bit with the CSS property "z-index"?
This page explains it and shows an example.
My idea is to use z-index to layer the menu over the embedded object.
Please let me know if you need help with it.

Embebbed objects have "infinite" z-index. No matter how great the z-index of your menu is, it will always be below the object...

wmode=transparent works if it's a flash object, but I need this for a quicktime object. Any help??

I found this. It does not help you accomplish it, but instead explains a bit why this happens.

I kinda already knew this, but I was hoping there was some kind of work-around...

I fear if may have no solution...

And I would never depend on the browser drawing menues over an object, but I didn't do the design. Sigh.

Thanks for the help.
