How to insert a horizontal line inside <table> tag

You can't. The table element may contain only the following elements: CAPTION, (COL*|COLGROUP*), THEAD, TFOOT, and TBODY.
Why don't you tell us what you're trying to do, rather than asking us how to do what you've decided is the solution?

I assume you mean the <hr> thingy.
What you can do is add a new row, set the cell to span all columns and then add the <hr> to the cell...

I posted my question in PHP forum as well but it was deemed to be more relevant to HTML forum and thats why it was moved into HTML forum. That is why everyone sees two post!
Will appreciate if mods give me benefit of the doubt and reduce/remove warning points.
